MEMORIES OF MY COUSIN TONY
“Do you know I have probably known Tony longer than anyone apart from his Dad and possibly Uncle Frank. I can remember him as a one-year-old when we visited in Plymouth. When did you first meet him?” Pauline
“It was at your Mum and Dad’s house, at a party. There was this young bloke in long white robes, sandals, wispy beard and I think a wreath on his head. Reminded me of somebody…” Sandy
“Come on, Tony has always been himself hasn’t he, one minute wrapped up in his own interests the next being welcoming, hospitable and open-hearted. Remember how he came to the rescue when Chloe was experiencing real difficulties in Exeter” Pauline
“Wasn’t that when he sat her down and gave her a couple of copies of Shearsman to read? I think that was then when she realised that life could only get better” Sandy
“Miserable sod! We have had many wonderful times with him, golf in Malaysia, junk expeditions in Hong Kong and Sunday lunches at Fernando’s in Macau!” Pauline
“Yeah, wasn’t Macau where they machine-gunned his penthouse flat from a helicopter, or am I perchance thinking of someone else?” Sandy
“No, that was Tony. Tony, thank you for being my cousin”
with love and affection Pauline
(not a bad bloke, all things considered Sandy)
