Hi Tony, this is just to say a big thank you for your support and friendship over the years.
Back in the early 90s, when I first decided it was high time I came out of my shell the opportunities for the material I both wrote and read were very few and mostly obscure. Then I discovered Shearsman, a small but very bright chink in the darkness. Since then that chink of light has grown into full daylight.
You are one of a special handful of people who have worked tirelessly to promote poetry, both from here and abroad, that would otherwise have fallen outside the remit of the parochial and timid poetry publishers. I would also like to thank you on behalf of Plymouth poetry – your belief in us was a constant source of encouragement, both practical and psychological. Have a happy 64thbirthday – as long as you don’t retire.
Cheers mate.
